Zane Lybrand, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Hi I’m Zane. I received my PhD in Biology from Texas A&M University in 2012 studying neural regeneration in annelid worms and completed my postdoc at UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2018 in the Department of Molecular Biology. Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending time with my family, riding my bike, and playing jazz guitar.

Myles Gladen

Graduate Student

Myles graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in May of 2020, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While at OKWU he was a four-year member of the cross country and track team. He joined Texas Woman’s University in Aug of 2020 as a Professional Master of Science Student in biotechnology and will complete that program in August of 2021. Upon completion he will be a PhD student in the lab studying Traumatic brain injury and regenerative medicine. Outside of school he enjoys spending time traveling, camping, hiking, running, climbing, and watched a good tv show or movie.

Nadine Yasine

Graduate Student

Nadine graduate from Texas Wesleyan University (the other TWU) and joined the Lybrand lab in Spring 2022. She loves coffee, soccer, and is passionate about understanding the biology of repetitive head traumas.

Natalie Smith

Graduate Student

Natalie graduate from Texas A&M University and joined the lab as a Masters student. She embeds organoids into all the things and didn't realize she was going to be doing so much bioengineering!

Sriram Ayalavarapu

TAMS Student

Sriram is a TAMS student working in the lab on computational neurobiology. He's a Python wizard and an aspiring neurosurgeon.
