Tho Vu

Graduate Student

Hi I am Tho, currently I am a Master's student in Biology. Besides taking courses as a graduate student, I also work as a Graduate Assistant, which my main job is to prep lab and make sure the class is running smoothly for students. I always dreamed myself to become a teacher since I was six years old, and now I couldn’t be happier to make it halfway comes true! Coming to TWU has given me a lot of opportunities to learn, to grow, especially to have the chance to work in Dr. Lybrand’s lab, where I can fulfill my passion to study about human brain! In my free time, I love exploring community parks, museums, or just simply a peaceful moment with books and my beloved ones.

Nikolas Merlock

Undergraduate Student

I'm Nik and I am an undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Biology with a Neurobiology concentration at UTSA. Outside of school, I work as an undergraduate research assistant in Hsieh Lab (and assist remotely for the Lybrand Lab), and as a software developer for the tech start-up Deltable, where we specialize in business workflow optimization and automation. In the future, I intend to combine my experience in research and tech with my neurobiology education in order to research and develop cutting-edge technologies, and deepen our understanding of the brain in the process.
